Yes, both my mother and I have bought rental cars and we’ve had good luck with them and certainly got them at a better price, however the last time we went looking for a used car we found that prices were no better than those at a dealership. I think that is likely because they cut back on their fleets during the pandemic and have little to sell right now. In 2012 I was able to buy a 2011 Nissan Altima Hybrid in Mississippi for less than 15K. That was not a vehicle that was ever sold in Mississippi. I had to leave it when I moved back to California during the pandemic.
