If I buy an I Bond before the end of April. Will the purchase be credited before the May 1st change in interest rate?
Even if it’s on a weekend?
Do it by tomorrow, Thursday. Friday is the 28th and Monday is the 1st. An order placed on Friday may be pushed to Monday and thus the new I bond rate.
I think I remember words to that effect when I purchased I Bonds last week. My confirmation emails were sent the following day.
Definitely want to do it by Thursday (f you’re sure you want to do it at all). I learned this lesson the hard way in 2021 when I bought on the last weekday of October, a Friday, but it didn’t clear until the following Monday, November 1st.
