Jug handle — Northeastern slang (esp. “Jersey” slang) for a “loop” shaped exit/entrance ramp. On a map, it sure does resemble an old-fashioned jug handle! ![]()
I first posted “bin-flation” in May. Re-posting since it’s in the discussion.
Thin-flation: A type of “shrinkflation” in which purchased items become ever thinner, while the price goes up. An example: cereal boxes. The box of cereal looks the same from the front. Give it a half turn… and its “spine” is barely wider than the spine on a VHS videotape. (Remember those?) ![]()
“Shortcut-itis” — The condition of always seeking a “shortcut” in wealth growing. Many, many folks have this “condition.”
F.I.R.E. — (alternative definition). Normally means Financial Independence, Retire Early. But… sometimes can mean… Fired Inexplicably, (guess he’ll be) Retiring Early. I posted this back in May, re-sharing because it came up on Clark and Christa’s podcast. Cheers! ![]()
Pieminister — LOL! A pie pun on “prime minister”! A restaurant chain in the Midlands area (Manchester) of jolly old England! Cheers, Mates!
“Glare effect” at Costco and other retailers. Stores package the food in plastic clamshells. The bright lights reflect off the plastic, and the labels also block your vision. Net-net… hard to eyeball the spoiled … or nearly spoiled… tomatoes.
