I was just approved for a new credit card yesterday, so I’m not going to apply for the T-Mobile Visa for at least several months.
No comment on reccmendations, but I will note that while watching what you apply for is good, several months will not likely make it good. Several years ago Capital One had wonderful offers, one of which I went for. They sent me a down level card with a piddly credit line, all with 800+ scores. Foolishly I tried again a few months later and they sent another insulting ($600) credit-line card and refused to honor the supposed incentive. I terminated all biz with them but it still messed up my credit for 2+ YEARS, not for score but for “too many inquires!”
Moral of story: Unless you are convinced that what you expect to get is good, leave it!
I think if you’re a T-Mobile customer it’s a must have. T-Mobile recently removed all other cards from being eligible for their 5% auto pay discount so you’re stuck with this card. The card does pay 2% on every purchase so not bad (however all rewards must be spent at T-Mobile). Which isn’t hard with your wireless bill.
Probably. Clark has not said no about it but in general, he is on the negative side for those brand name credit cards. With some exceptions like Sam’s club, Costco, and Target red.
