0 % on purchase. also 0% on balance transfer with 0 % fee

I have a Wells Fargo CC. 0% for 15 months on the purchase. Full balance due in full this August 2026. Let’s say $5,000.

A few weeks ago, I received an offer in the mail for a balance transfer at 0% interest with a 0% transaction fee for 15 months; the offer expired at the end of June 2026. They send me many checks to write. Make it very tempting. My credit limit is very large.

I am planning to pay off that $5,000, 0% on purchase first, and then write the check for myself for free money to invest for 15 months.

Is there any “got you” that I need to watch for?

I would read verrrrry carefully the offer. At some banks, if you do a balance transfer and then make purchases with the card, they charge interest immediately on the purchases.

That is actually pretty common…all payments are applied to the promotional balance first, leaving subsequent purchases to accrue interest every month until the promo balance is paid off. Nothing wrong with doing it, but I’d put the card someplace where it could never ever be accidentally used.

Just very tempting to get up to $20,000 0% with no fee. free money for 15 months. Just don’t want to walk into a trap.

Just read the fine print very closely and make sure you don’t have that card anywhere near a place where you might accidentally use it. Who is the offer from? And have you googled it for scams?

What do you plan to do with the money? The arbitrage play in a safe MMF would only net you $800 in a year.

Does using the convenience check count as a balance transfer?

Found a thread on Reddit, talking about a super check that is legit. He said he uses it with no problem. Thinking about investing with Auto Pilot. See how it goes.
