Hi everyone, I have been trying to get my monthly spending under control because everything at home just keeps getting more expensive. I started with small things like planning meals for the week, making coffee at home, and checking what we already have at home before shopping, and it honestly made a difference. I am still working on the bigger bills like electricity and heating. What small changes made the biggest difference for you? I would love to hear what worked in your home.

Congrats on the progress! Meal planning, home coffee, and checking the pantry first are exactly the right moves, and they add up fast. You’re on the right path.

I’m sharing a checklist that might help with the bigger bills like electricity and heating. Hope it’s useful!
**Monthly bills**

- Shop home and auto insurance rates
- Review cell phone plans and actual data usage
- Compare internet plans and ask about better rates
- Review streaming services and cancel ones we rarely use
- Check subscriptions and automatic renewals

**Electricity & heating**

- Change HVAC filters regularly
- Seal drafts around windows and doors
- Adjust the thermostat when away or sleeping
- Wash clothes in cold water when possible
- Check whether the electric company offers cheaper off-peak rates
- Set the water heater around 120°F if appropriate for the household

**Shopping**

- Make a list before grocery shopping and stick to it
- Check what we already have before buying more
- Compare store brands with name brands
- Consider last year’s model instead of the newest one
- Look at reputable refurbished or used products
- Compare prices instead of assuming a sale is a good deal

Pick **one item each month** and see if you can permanently knock $20, $50 or even $100 off your monthly expenses - keep rocking it
