Ground fault interrupters

Banana peels make great fertilizer for tomato plants. Put one in the hole when you plant and bury them near the plant all season.

Mine doesn’t have a screen… I cant really imagine where one would be, unless in the exit to the leach field

Yes, it’s in the second vault (mine has two) and at the exit to the drain field. It keeps any solids that made it that far from clogging your drain field pipes.

If you have a filter and it is not cleaned periodically stuff could backup into your house.

Most 1,000 gal+ septic tanks use multiple baffles to keep solids from getting to the tank’s outlet. Some even have electrically-powered ultra-violet treatment stations in them as tertiary treatment stages and can legally discharge effluent above ground level.

Considering that mine is nearly 50 years old… No it doesnt have anything new or fancy. It is buried in the backyard just outside the garage wall.
