I recently went through freezing my credit and joining credit karma after back to back stolen credit card incidents on 2 of my 3 cards (PITA!).

But I am now getting emails from Experian and others. The Experian email is asking me to run a free scan as my personal information is exposed.

Is this a scam? Has anyone done this? Thanks much and Merry Christmas!

I get emails all the time from the credit bureaus and from Credit Karma trying to get me to signup for other credit cards or to purchase other credit locking services. I am not sure I would call them scams but if your credit is frozen there is nothing else you need to do…

If you’re not sure, maybe log in to the website and see if that’s an option.
I wouldn’t do anything through an unsolicited email.
