Is there a free resource to find my actual credit score, i.e. the score creditors, utility companies and insurance companies are most likely to use?

I think a lot of credit card companies are starting to provide that. I think even one of my mortgage providers offers that service.

While all the entities you mention may use a FICO score the score may be different for each of those entities and I don’t believe there is a way to get all of the “tailored” FICO scores. Some CCs provide a FICO and you can pay to get it directly from FICO. Credit Karma provides a Vantage score for free and this is likely to be sufficient for your needs. Some credit cards also report Vantage scores.

Hypothetically, all the “credit score companies” may have access to our SS numbers.
