Aren’t you concerned about the costs of maint, painting costs, appliances, etc, for your rentals later this year?
Nope. We don’t need any major items (Roof, HVAC, etc…) because those have all been done in the last 3-5 years. We don’t need any exterior painting for at least 5 more years as we have previous converted everything to hardi plank. Any appliances we might need are bought used, from an appliance repair shop we have used for 20 years. Any increases in taxes or insurance we just pass on to the tenant.
I just realized… my dental floss is from China. I’m almost out. Running to Costco now.
Kind of like tariffs are passed on.
I bought tires for 2 of the cars, and enough chlorine for the pool to last a couple years. Plus I’m looking at other consumable, longer lasting items to buy ahead. Considering upgrading my older cell phone and laptop to avoid price increases.

That’s exactly right. Bu the difference here is that if a liberal said we should implement an import tax, a conservative would say the tax is just passed on to the consumer. In this case they say it will bring manufacturing back to the US.
I needed a lap top and was putting it off until Trump started the tariffs.
I now have a new HP lap top made with components from various other nations.
