We have one…and its very good for reheating fried food like chicken fingers, wings, fried pickles, egg rolls…that kind of thing.

So they come in two forms, the spears and the chips. The chips are my favorite and looks like this:

Wife cooks chicken, pork chops, and several other things. One of my favorites is sweet potato hash browns.

Sounds a little like the Forman Grill.
Used it twice. Wife thought it was too hard to clean between the grooves. I do not know what happened to it.
I have not seen it in quite a while.

Best friemd bought one; i was there when it was new and she was trying it out. A lot of things took a lot longer to cook. Not sure of her overall assessmeny, but it fidnt seem vervy. Useful of an appliance to me. My stove has an air fryer function. Never tried it… Honestly, i will probably get tid of the stove and find one that myy dog can’t arbitrarily turn on just by jumping on it…

I can lock the controls so he can’t turn on the oven; however, I cannot do the same with the cooktop. Yes, the knobs are at the front of the stove (it’s a slide-in), and are sensitive enough that he easy turns them on when jumping up to see if there’s any food.
Last March I was traveling and my son was at work the dog escaped his crate, jumped up and turned on the stove, and incinerated a loaf of bread. Son arrived home to a house completely filled with smoke. Thankfully nothing else caught fire. I got a 4am panic call from my son while I was several thousand miles away. I had him go over to the neighbor’s and ask them to help him check that things were ok.
If the dog cooked, it wouldn’t help…he would eat it all before anyone else got a chance for even a bite.

Bought a Forman grill about 20 years ago Did not like it. Cooked some burgers and a steak on it. Seemed to almost steam the food, instead of browning it. Then there is the cleaning part.

They are great for things like pizza rolls and chicken nuggets if you like them crisp and not soggy like they come out in the microwave. I would get the largest one I could afford and not the round ones but
the ones that look more like a tabletop oven. It takes some trial and error to cook them without drying out the food. I have not yet seen any product that has air fryer cooking instructions yet.

Wonder if the air fryer/roaster oven is any better? Ive been considering that but seems like it needs to be more on countertop (I’d want on counter but under a wall cabinet)

They are useful but small. I’d rather have one of the small toaster ovens that have convection, or replace worn out microwave hood with a convection micro. But like any other gadget, will you use it or will it collect dust.

The George Forman grill is really easy to clean. The secret - put a wet paper towel in it after cooking, and the clean up is fast - the food does not get baked on the grooves!

I love mine. I have the toaster oven type. I’ve had the other kind and they are good too, but the small oven types have shelves instead of a basket, so the food can get really crispy. Mine also has a rotisserie basket- makes excellent frozen French fries. Use it to reheat any fried food, it’s amazing how much oil comes out that you would have otherwise consumed.

I have seen a few frozen foods that have air fryer instructions. Otherwise, I use the oven instructions and lower the temp by 25 degrees and reduce cooking time to 1/2 to 3/4, depending on how crispy I want it.

I use my 6qt Air Fryer about three times a week and really like it. I make baked potatoes, chicken, frozen french fries, burgers, cheese sticks, etc-etc. Air fryers cook mush faster than a regular oven. I’ve used an air fryer for over two years and when it does break I’ll buy another one right away.
